A Brush with History: Our Southern Magnolia Wallpaper at the Legendary Dooky Chase’s Restaurant

There are design projects, and then there are historic design projects. We are incredibly proud to announce that Paperbird Home has become a part of the fabric of New Orleans history.

Our Southern Magnolia wallpaper was selected for the walls of the newly renovated upstairs dining room at the legendary Dooky Chase’s Restaurant.

For those who know New Orleans, Dooky Chase’s is more than just a restaurant. It is a landmark of African American culture and a former meeting ground for Civil Rights icons like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Thurgood Marshall. When the Chase family decided to reopen the upstairs "Civil Rights Room," they needed a design that honored the past while welcoming the future. We are honored that our Southern Magnolia print—symbolizing the strength, hospitality, and beauty of the South—was chosen to set the tone for this hallowed space.
